African market. Through our event partnership, they are the first major Online Tourism Conference

the application of e-business solutions to the delivery and management of tourism services by both
tourism destination organisations and tourism businesses. The aim is to enable them to operate with
maximum efficiency and effectiveness in their tourism marketing, visitor servicing and sales.

in technology, Microsoft has an opportunity and a responsibility to apply its expertise in software
to helping people, particularly people in underserved communities. Microsoft has a long history of
community engagement, and this has led to many community partnerships around the world. These
partnerships are founded on a mutual commitment to creating sustainable technology solutions that
make a lasting difference in people’s lives. Microsoft are working in conjunction with the United
Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) who play a central and decisive role in promoting
the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, on e-tourism
related projects- paying particular attention to the interests of developing countries.
In Africa, they recently launched a project to provide and support
Free Hosted Websites to tourism
enterprises across South Africa via a self-provisioning portal in conjunction with South Africa
Tourism.
